A seminar marking the 15th death anniversary of Shah Sufi Syed Ahmadul Haque was held at the University of Dhaka on Thursday, focusing on his role in promoting an inclusive society.
The Department of Persian Language and Literature of the University of Dhaka and Allama Rumi Society Bangladesh jointly organised the seminar titled “The Role of Bengal’s Rumi Syed Ahmadul Haque in Building an Inclusive Society” at the RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium.
The event was chaired by Dr Mohammad Mumit Al Rashid, chairman of the Department of Persian Language and Literature. Former caretaker government adviser Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman attended as the chief guest, while Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr Mohammad Abul Kalam Sarkar and Cultural Counsellor of the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka Mehdi Molayi Orani were special guests.
Professor Dr KM Saiful Islam Khan of the Department of Persian Language and Literature presented the keynote paper.
