Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) delivered an impressive performance at the Open Prize Money Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2026, winning the women’s singles and Under-19 boys’ singles titles while finishing runner-up in the men’s singles.
The tournament was held from September 10 to 13 at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Indoor Stadium in the capital, with around 400 players from Ansar-VDP, Bangladesh Army, BKSP and various districts taking part.
In the women’s singles, an Ansar-VDP player claimed the championship, while a Bangladesh Army player finished runner-up. Players from Ansar-VDP and the Army jointly secured the second runner-up position.
In the men’s singles, the Bangladesh Army won the title, with Ansar-VDP finishing runner-up. Players from both organisations shared the second runner-up position.
Ansar-VDP also secured both the championship and runner-up positions in the Under-19 boys’ singles, while a BKSP player finished second runner-up.
The results highlight Ansar-VDP’s continued progress in competitive sports and its role in nurturing talented athletes and strengthening their skills for national-level competition.
