Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has removed posters and leaflets from metro rail pillars between Shewrapara and Mirpur-10 ahead of the 72-hour deadline set by its Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan.
The cleaning drive was carried out on Sunday under DNCC supervision with the participation of volunteer members of Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal.
The volunteers began removing posters and leaflets from the Mirpur-10 metro rail area at around 10am and completed the drive at Shewrapara by the afternoon.
All posters and leaflets were removed from the metro rail pillars and surrounding areas, helping improve the cleanliness of the area, according to pedestrians.
The DNCC administrator had issued the 72-hour deadline on Saturday while inaugurating a weekly cleanliness programme at the Shewrapara metro rail area.
