Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC has set an example in dividend distribution by paying its approved 180% cash dividend to institutional and general investors just one day after its annual general meeting (AGM).
The listed technology giant in Bangladesh’s engineering sector distributed the dividend for the 2025–26 financial year to investors’ respective bank accounts following approval at its 20th AGM held on Thursday (October 15, 2026).
Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, FCA, deputy managing director and company secretary of Walton Hi-Tech, said institutional investors and a large number of general shareholders attended the virtual AGM, where the proposed 180% cash dividend and 10% stock dividend were unanimously approved.
He said Walton’s technological advancement, institutional efficiency, operational dynamism and strong liquidity position enabled the company to distribute the cash dividend within such a short period.
For the 2025–26 financial year, shareholders received Tk18 in cash against each ordinary share with a face value of Tk10. They will also receive one bonus share for every 10 ordinary shares held.
According to the company’s approved audited financial statements, Walton Hi-Tech posted a profit of Tk1,124.57 crore in FY2025–26, up from Tk1,036.62 crore in the previous financial year.
Earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk33.75 from Tk31.11 a year earlier.
The company’s total net asset value, including revaluation, stood at approximately Tk12,704 crore. Net asset value per share, including revaluation, increased to Tk381.26, while the figure excluding revaluation stood at Tk280.24.
Walton said the approved 10% stock dividend would be used to expand its green energy capacity, ensure an uninterrupted power supply and finance other modernisation and expansion activities under its balancing, modernisation, rehabilitation and expansion (BMRE) programme.
The stock dividend will be issued entirely from retained earnings, the company said.
