Under the Kharif seasonal incentive program for the 2025–26 fiscal year, seeds and fertilizers for high-yielding Aus rice and mung beans, along with air flow machines for onion storage, have been distributed among small and marginal farmers in Magura.
The program was officially inaugurated on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Magura Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium by Member of Parliament from Magura-1, Monowar Hossain Khan.
Among those present were Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Meherun Nahar and Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Masud Rana.
According to the Department of Agriculture, under this year’s Kharif incentive program:
Around 2,000 farmers received high-yielding Aus rice seeds and fertilizers, 160 farmers received mung bean seeds and fertilizers, 40 farmers received air flow machines for onion storage.
The agriculture department stated that it is actively working to improve agricultural productivity in Magura. As part of ongoing initiatives, farmers in the district are being provided with free seeds and fertilizers in different seasons.
Alongside the distribution of seeds and fertilizers, modern technology such as air flow machines for onion preservation is also being introduced to support farmers and reduce post-harvest losses.
The program was organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension, Magura.
