As part of the field monitoring of the measles and rubella vaccination campaign, Additional Secretary of the Health Department, Md. Khorshed Alam, visited Barisal district. On Sunday morning, April 26, he visited Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. At that time, the Additional Secretary held a meeting with the hospital director and doctors.
According to relevant sources, Additional Secretary of the Health Department of the Ministry of Health, Md. Khorshed Alam, has set off on a tour across the country to monitor the measles and rubella vaccination campaign at the field level. On Sunday, he visited Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital and then Barisal Sadar Hospital.
Responding to questions from journalists after the visit, the Additional Secretary said that there is a sudden outbreak of measles. A measles vaccination campaign is being conducted across the country.
The environment is gradually improving. We hope that measles will be brought under control very soon. He also said that the problem with ICUs in hospitals will be resolved quickly. The allocation for the health sector has been increased in the next budget. The existing problems will be resolved soon.
Later, he participated as the chief guest in a meeting with doctors and nurses in the conference room of the hospital. Barisal Civil Surgeon Dr. SM Manjur-e-Elahi, Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital Director Brigadier General Dr. AKM Mashiul Munir and other doctors were present at the time. After this, the Additional Secretary visited various Upazila Health Complexes of Barisal district.
