Participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks brought on the President's address in the National Assembly, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury said, we have been able to be politically and socially established today because of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
At the beginning of his speech in the Parliament on Sunday (April 27), he remembered the great independence proclaimer Ziaur Rahman and said, 'Because of him, with his identity and with the party he formed, we have been politically and socially established today.'
Choosing the people of his constituency Nandail, he said, 'He is a servant of the people of Nandail. The dreams of people from all classes and professions in the area are his dreams. Standing in the Parliament, he promised to fulfill the dreams of the common people of Nandail. At that time, he brought to the attention of the government the poor condition of about 1,200 kilometers of roads in the upazila.
The state minister said to the opposition, "We can't just talk about working together. There is no point in keeping honey on our lips and poison in our hearts. Everyone has to work together for the sake of the country, otherwise a situation will arise like cutting canals and bringing crocodiles."
He also said, "Don't do anything that will allow fascism to rise again in the country." In his speech, he said, "They were forced to flee the country by stealing the wealth of the poor."
In response to opposition members thumping the table during his speech to support his statement, he said, "You should also be careful so that your fate does not end like this."
He also said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will implement the signed July National Charter. He said, "The BNP implements the promises it makes. There is no 'if' or 'but' in the case of the July Charter either."
