The local administration has recovered the Nolia Canal from illegal occupation in the Sabutla area of Jhanzhania village under Sadar Union in Rampal upazila, Bagerhat. The eviction drive was conducted on Wednesday morning under the lead of Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abhijit Chakraborty.
During the operation, illegal embankments and net structures built over the canal were removed, restoring the natural water flow. The canal had remained occupied for a long time, and its recovery has brought relief among local residents.
Present during the operation were Rampal Police Station Investigation Officer Subrata Pal, Naib Sirajul Islam, Surveyor Riazul Islam, and other officials. The eviction was carried out peacefully with the support of law enforcement. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abhijit Chakraborty said that such drives will continue regularly to protect public interest, reduce waterlogging, and preserve natural water bodies.
