Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman inspected the Netrokona District Jail on-site. Additional District Magistrate Wahiduzzaman, Jail Superintendent Md. Abdullah Ibne Tofazzal Hossain Khan, Jailer Md. Abu Saddat and others were present during the inspection. It is learned that Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman observed the housing arrangements and cleanliness of the prison. He spoke to the prisoners and listened to their facilities and problems. He visited the kitchen adjacent to the prison to ensure the quality of food. He inquired about the medical treatment of the prisoners and gave instructions to ensure necessary healthcare. He also visited the library inside the prison and encouraged the prisoners to read books. Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman said that the district administration will continue its regular supervision with the aim of developing the prison as a 'correctional institution' rather than just a place of punishment.
