Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) has launched a fully digital selection process to recruit women members for overseas employment in Moldova, aiming to ensure a transparent, merit-based, and broker-free migration system.
The initiative, implemented through the Ansar Welfare Trust, will initially select 300 women members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar (DMA) Town Defence Party (TDP) for overseas employment opportunities in the European country.
The programme is being carried out under the leadership of Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, with the objective of providing safe, legal, and transparent migration opportunities while protecting job seekers from fraudulent middlemen and risky irregular migration routes.
To ensure fairness, the force has formed five independent selection committees to oversee every stage of the recruitment process. The selection is being conducted under strict security at the Ansar Headquarters with an emphasis on transparency and accountability.
The first phase of the selection process began on Wednesday, when 139 eligible women TDP members from the northern and eastern zones of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar took part in the screening.
Candidates first signed a self-declaration form before sitting for a live written examination conducted digitally through Google Forms using their personal smartphones and Gmail accounts under the supervision of examination officials.
Applicants also underwent physical assessments, including height and weight measurements, before appearing for interviews before a joint jury board comprising members of the five selection committees.
According to the organisers, a specialised software system is being used to process candidates' scores from every stage of the selection process. The automated evaluation system generates merit lists without human intervention, minimising the possibility of manipulation or favouritism.
The second phase of the selection will be held on July 9, when another 161 women TDP members from the southern and western zones of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar will undergo the same digital examination and interview process.
Officials said the programme is designed not only to select qualified candidates but also to prepare them for employment in Europe through internationally standardised training. Selected participants will receive specialised instruction on European workplace culture, social norms, professional skills, and language preparation to help them adapt successfully to their new working environment.
The force believes the initiative could become a model for safe and transparent overseas recruitment by eliminating the role of illegal brokers and ensuring that opportunities are awarded solely on merit.
If successfully implemented, the programme is expected to create legal employment opportunities for Bangladeshi women in Europe, increase remittance inflows, strengthen women's economic empowerment, and further enhance Bangladesh's reputation in the international labour market.
