Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) members have distributed relief assistance to 50 flood-affected families in the Borolia and Chanhara unions of Patiya upazila as part of a humanitarian initiative funded by the members themselves.
The relief effort comes as continuous rainfall and flooding have caused widespread suffering in the area. Since the onset of the disaster, Ansar-VDP members have been engaged in public awareness campaigns, rescue support, relief distribution and efforts to ensure the safety of affected residents.
The relief packages included flattened rice, puffed rice, molasses, biscuits, safe drinking water, potatoes, onions and matches. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, while local residents praised the force's humanitarian initiative.
The Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party has called on all members to actively participate in rescue, rehabilitation and relief operations during natural disasters. In line with this directive, Ansar-VDP members in Patiya continue to support flood-hit communities through voluntary humanitarian efforts.
The force said it remains committed to standing beside vulnerable communities and providing assistance during times of crisis.
