The police have arrested two people with 150 kg of domestic brewing equipment (root) and an unregistered CNG autorickshaw in a special anti-drug operation in Kaukhali Upazila of Rangamati.
The operation was conducted at 1:55 am on Thursday (July 23) at the Battala check post on the Chittagong-Rangamati highway in the Champatoli three-way intersection area of Ghagra Union under Kaukhali Police Station.
A CNG autorickshaw was searched at the check post and 150 kg of domestic brewing equipment (root) was seized.
At the same time, the unregistered CNG autorickshaw was seized and two people were arrested. The arrested are— Md. Bellal Kabir alias Tobi (46), , and Neuchin Rakhine (40).
In this incident, Kaukhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Enamul Haque Chowdhury said that two people were arrested along with 150 kg of domestically brewed liquor (moli) and an unregistered CNG autorickshaw during a drive at the Battala check post on the Chittagong-Rangamati highway.
A case has been filed under the relevant section of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. The two arrested accused have been handed over to the court after completing the legal process.#
