A suspected mobile phone thief was caught red-handed at the 250-Bed Magura Hospital on Saturday following the swift intervention of an attached member of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP).
The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. while attached Ansar member Md. Ziaur Rahman was on duty on the fourth floor of the hospital. During his patrol, he spotted a suspect allegedly stealing a mobile phone belonging to a patient's attendant and immediately apprehended him at the scene.
The hospital authorities were promptly informed of the incident. In their presence, the detained suspect was handed over to Magura Sadar Police Station for further legal action.
The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party continues to play a vital role in maintaining security, ensuring discipline, and preventing crime at hospitals across the country. Officials said the prompt action of the Ansar member reflects the force's continued commitment to safeguarding public safety and supporting law enforcement.
