On August 5, on the occasion of July Uprising Day-2026, with the slogan "We will build the country with July consciousness - Bangladesh first", Gopalganj-2 constituency MP Dr. KM Babar, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Arif-uz-Zaman, District Police Superintendent Md. Habibullah, District BNP Convener and District Council Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Sharif Rafiquzzaman, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Sayeed Md. Faruk, District Council Chief Executive Officer Amit Deb Nath, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer paid deep tribute to the martyrs of the great July Uprising Movement by placing wreaths at the July Memorial located next to the Launchghat Model Mosque under the Gopalganj Municipal Council.
Kaushik Ahmed, Deputy Director of the District Family Planning Department Md. Sohel Parvez and other officials of various government and private departments of the district were present.
Senior officials of the Gopalganj District Police were also present at the time. They paid deep respect to the sacrifice of the martyrs and showed deep respect to their memory and reiterated their commitment to perform their duties with utmost dedication to protect the peace, order and security of the people of the country.
Later, a discussion meeting and reception was held at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Arif-uz-Zaman on the occasion of July Mass Uprising Day-2026, organized by the Gopalganj District Administration and funded by the Zilla Parishad, Gopalganj. Everyone was present at the event.
The speakers at the meeting said that the sacrifice of the July martyrs will be forever remembered in the struggle to establish democracy, justice and human rights in the country. The ceremony paid tribute to the July warriors and their family members and presented them with awards. Everyone was urged to work together to convey their ideals to the new generation.
Heads of various government departments, political figures, journalists and people from different walks of life were present at the event.
