Ansar members detained three alleged members of a broker syndicate during a raid at the BRTA Turag office in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
The operation, led by an executive magistrate, was conducted around 3pm at the BRTA Dhaka Metro Circle-3 office. Officials recovered documents related to vehicle registration, fitness certificates and ownership transfers from the detainees.
The detainees were identified as Rakib Aziz, 40, of Jigatla; Kamrul Hasan, 22, of Badda; and Shahin, 33, of Bhola.
Later, Executive Magistrate Md Rakib Aziz and Md Kamrul Hasan were sentenced to two months in jail each, while Md Shahin was sentenced to one month. They were subsequently sent to jail through police.
