Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmood paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the Ansar-VDP chief briefed the president on the force’s activities, ongoing development and modernisation initiatives, and future plans.
The president praised Ansar-VDP members for their role in maintaining public security and order, including during the post-uprising period and the 13th parliamentary election.
He stressed the need to further modernise the force, strengthen its organisational capacity and increase its engagement with the public.
The president also called for expanding foreign-language, technical and technology-based training to develop the skills and employability of Ansar-VDP members.
He praised the force’s contributions to renewable energy, human resource development, sports, culture and various public welfare activities, and assured continued support for its development and the welfare of its members.
The Ansar-VDP director general thanked the president for his guidance and invited him to visit the Ansar Academy at a convenient time.
