A unit of the Rampal coal-fired power plant in Bagerhat shut down at around 11:30am today (13 September) due to a technical fault, cutting the plant’s electricity generation by roughly half.
The plant had been generating more than 1,100MW before the shutdown, but output subsequently dropped to below 600MW.
Meanwhile, Adani Power’s Godda plant resumed electricity supply from its second unit at around noon after the unit was taken offline late Wednesday night due to a technical problem.
