Kishoreganj University has launched a cleanliness and mosquito-control campaign at its temporary campus to prevent dengue and maintain a healthy environment.
The campaign was held on Tuesday afternoon, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Habibur Rahman taking part in the cleanliness drive with a broom in hand.
The programme began with an awareness session involving teachers and students on dengue prevention. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the vice-chancellor called on teachers, students, officers and employees to play a responsible role in preventing the spread of dengue.
He urged everyone to remain vigilant so that stagnant water does not accumulate anywhere on the campus and create breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
The vice-chancellor also said regular cleaning activities and other necessary measures would be taken to ensure a clean and hygienic campus environment.
The programme was chaired by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr G M Shafiur Rahman. Treasurer Professor Dr Md Abdus Salam Akand attended as a special guest.
University Registrar Naila Yasmin, Principal of Gurudayal Government College Professor Siddiq Ullah, heads of various departments, university officials and students were also present.
