Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has inaugurated the distribution of Family Cards, Farmer Cards and honorariums for religious leaders as part of a nationwide initiative to support beneficiaries.
The programmes were launched on Thursday afternoon at Fulghazi School ground in Feni district, with the prime minister attending as the chief guest. Through a video conference, the initiative was simultaneously inaugurated in 77 upazilas across 56 districts, including Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj.
Social Welfare Minister Dr AZM Zahid Hossain presided over the inauguration ceremony.
A separate programme was held in Kotalipara, Gopalganj, attended by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md Arif-uz-Zaman, Superintendent of Police Md Habibullah, BPM-Seva, district BNP convener and district council administrator Bir Muktijoddha Sharif Rafiquzzaman, District Agriculture Officer Dr Md Mamunur Rahman, and Kotalipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Saif-ul-Arefin.
Farmers and beneficiaries of the Family and Farmer Card programmes were also present.
Local political leaders, public representatives, officials from government and private organisations, and people from various professions attended the event.
