Village Defense party (VDP) basic training has begun in Banaripara upazila of Barisal from Sunday. Seventy trainees are participating in this training at the south Nazirpur Secondary School of the Municipal Corporation. Of these, 25 are women and 45 are men.
Upazila Ansar and VDP trainer Saifur Rahman, headmaster of South Nazirpur Secondary School Mohammad Jamal Hossain and former Upazila Ansar company commander and senior journalist Rumi Sayeed were present in the training on the first day.
The participants in the training will be trained on various techniques of self-reliance including drug control, prevention of women and child trafficking, prevention of child marriage, law and order control, fish and livestock farming. The ten-day training will end on November 26. Certificates will be awarded to the trainees on the closing day.
