Vaccination program underway in Phulbari

A training and advocacy meeting was held in Phulbari, Dinajpur, to raise awareness and ensure the success of the National Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign 2026.
The event, organized by Phulbari Municipality, took place on Sunday at 11:00 AM at the municipal auditorium. It brought together teachers, vaccinators, supervisors, and volunteers.
The meeting was presided over by Phulbari Municipality Administrator, Shamiul Islam.
Speakers at the session included Executive Municipal Engineer Lutf
 ul Huda Chowdhury Limon, Administrative Officer Jahangir Alam, Medical Officer Dr. Alif Md. Nur-e-Alam Sayeedi, Masuma Akter Mim, Dr. Tanvir Rupak, teacher Sheikh Mohammad Ali, and Sharifa Akter Lucky, among others.
The speakers emphasized that measles and rubella are highly contagious diseases that pose serious health risks to children. They stated that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent these diseases.
Participants were urged to ensure that every child within the target age group is brought under vaccination coverage during the campaign.
The training session included detailed discussions on proper vaccination techniques, supervision, and strategies to build public awareness.
It was noted that the campaign is being implemented with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
Local government officials, supervisors involved in vaccination activities, teachers from various educational institutions, and representatives of volunteer organizations were present at the event.
