In Gopalganj, freedom fighters have held a human chain program to protest against news published in various national and local newspapers calling veteran freedom fighter Md. Mosharef Hossain Molla a fake freedom fighter.
The human chain was organized by the
Gopalganj Sadar Upazila and District Freedom Fighter Command on the road in front of the Gopalganj Press Club at 10 am on Sunday (June 21).
Gopalganj District Council Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Sharif Rafiquzzaman, Convener of the District Freedom Fighter Command Bir Muktijoddha Sheikh Borhan Uddin, former Upazila Commander Bir Muktijoddha Chhabed Ali Bhuiyan and victimized veteran freedom fighter Md. Mosharef Hossain Molla and others spoke at the human chain.
The speakers said that a group is systematically spreading misleading information on various media and social media with the aim of tarnishing the honor of the brave freedom fighter Md. Mosharef Hossain Mollah.
They strongly condemned and protested against these propaganda. At the same time, they demanded that appropriate action be taken against those concerned.
In addition, they urged the administration to stop the propaganda and to verify the real information before presenting the news and to take necessary action against those spreading false news. After the human chain, the freedom fighters took out a rally and submitted a memorandum to the District Commissioner.
