Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon has said that students of madrasas achieve higher pass rates in public examinations compared to those of schools and colleges.
He made the remarks on Thursday while addressing a meeting with officers-in-charge of examination centres in the Jashore region at the Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s Auditorium. The meeting was organized to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations.
Addressing the teachers, the minister said, “You should explain why the pass rates in schools and colleges are lower when compared to madrasas.”
Earlier, he attended a similar coordination meeting in Barishal involving officials responsible for examination centres under the Barishal Education Board, Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board, and Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
The minister emphasized the need for all concerned stakeholders to play a responsible role in maintaining a peaceful and fair examination environment. He said the government is not only focused on preventing malpractice but is also giving importance to improving the quality of education and addressing existing challenges within the education system.
During the meetings, participants discussed various measures to ensure the successful conduct of the HSC and equivalent examinations. Issues related to examination centre management, maintaining discipline, and providing a conducive environment for examinees were also reviewed, and necessary instructions were given to the officials concerned.
