Millions of Bangladeshi youth dream of a good job in Europe. However, behind this golden dream, there is some dark reality. Hundreds of young people are constantly falling into the clutches of brokers by selling their land and savings, while some are losing their lives prematurely while crossing the Mediterranean. Breaking this ever-familiar cycle of fraud, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force has taken an exceptional initiative to send skilled workers to the European country of Moldova in a completely safe, legal and transparent process. This selection process to change the fate of 300 female members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar (DMA) has started through the force's Welfare Trust.
Behind this great initiative is the visionary leadership and planning of the force's Director General, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud. To prevent the violence of brokers and ensure 100% evaluation of merit and qualifications, 5 strong selection committees have been formed. These committees are supervising every step with utmost transparency to prevent the slightest opportunity for irregularities. This skilled human resource selection process is being conducted amidst strict security and discipline at the force headquarters, which has set a new example in the country's immigration sector.
On 08 July 2026 (Wednesday), 139 eligible TDP women members participated in the primary selection of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar North and East Zones in the first phase of the selection process. These candidates, who are willing to go abroad, signed the 'Self-Declaration' form prescribed by the force headquarters. After that, the main examination began. Instead of the traditional paper-and-pen examination, state-of-the-art technology has gained importance here. Under the strict supervision of the examination controllers on duty in the examination room, the candidates participated in the live written examination directly through 'Google Form' using the Gmail account of their respective smartphones.
In addition, all the physical qualifications of the candidates, including their weight and height, are verified. Then, the candidates participate in a direct interview in front of the jury board of the combined 5 committees. The most interesting aspect of this modern selection process is that the candidates are being input into a specialized software for the evaluation of each stage of the test. As a result, the software automatically prepares the merit list and evaluation standards without any human intervention or manipulation.
After the successful selection phase of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar North and East Zone, 161 more TDP women members of Dhaka Metropolitan South and West Zone are participating in the second phase on 09 July 2026 (Thursday). In the same manner, the candidates are facing the live test and jury board through Google Form under complete strict supervision. The main premise of the entire organization is 'ensuring maximum transparency in selection'. The young women who came were excited to see the completely digitalized and automated evaluation system without any opportunity for lobbying or financial transactions or nepotism. This method has brought back confidence among the qualified candidates.
The initiative is not just about selecting qualified personnel; the force has taken an uncompromising stance in controlling its quality. The main goal is to create skilled human resources of international standards. Special modules have been created to adapt the selected candidates to the European society, culture and work environment. In addition to developing the professional skills of the candidates to overcome the tough challenges of the international labor market, advanced training will be given to develop a strong mentality among them. This rigorous and international standard preparation will help them succeed in any adverse situation abroad.
This initiative is now a new possibility and a ray of hope for millions of young women in this country who dream of employment in Europe. When these women set foot on European soil legally, after treading the ever-familiar dark path of traditional and risky immigration, it will give courage to other women in the country to spread their wings. If this groundbreaking model of going to Europe without brokers and based entirely on merit is successful, it will be considered an exemplary and revolutionary milestone for the country's overall manpower export sector.
