A total of 153 newly recruited Senior Officers of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank participated in an orientation programme held at the Shaheed Elahi Box Auditorium of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Academy on Thursday.
The event was attended by the Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, SGP, BAM, NDU, AAWC, PSC, as the chief guest. Managing Director of the bank Mir Mofazzal Hossain presided over the programme.
The newly appointed officers were welcomed and introduced to the bank's operations, organisational structure, core values, customer service philosophy and future development plans.
Addressing the participants, Chairman Major General Mahmud congratulated the new officers and said Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank is not merely a financial institution but a key vehicle for the socio-economic development of nearly 6.1 million members of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP and their families.
He urged the officers to uphold integrity, transparency, professionalism, efficiency and accountability while performing their duties in line with the bank's mission and values.
Highlighting the changing banking landscape, the chairman stressed the importance of acquiring expertise in digital banking, information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics and customer-centric services. He encouraged the officers to pursue continuous learning, regular professional training and self-development to remain competitive in the modern financial sector.
The chairman also outlined several reform initiatives undertaken since assuming office to modernise the bank, strengthen institutional capacity and improve overall performance.
He said the "Sanjiban Project," jointly implemented by the Bangladesh Ansar-VDP Welfare Trust and Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank, is expected to play a significant role in promoting self-employment, income-generating activities, poverty reduction and sustainable financial inclusion for members of the force.
Calling honesty and ethical conduct a banker's greatest assets, he urged the officers to place the institution's interests above all else and carry out their responsibilities in compliance with laws, regulations and professional standards. He also emphasised teamwork, innovation and a positive workplace culture.
At the end of the programme, the newly recruited officers pledged to serve the bank with integrity, dedication, professionalism and patriotism while contributing to improved customer service and greater financial inclusion across the country.
The programme was also attended by the Commandant of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy, the General Manager, Deputy General Managers and other senior officials of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank.
