Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party organized the "Football Festival 2026 – Street Goal Challenge" at Kalshi Slum in the capital on Saturday, aiming to share the excitement of the FIFA World Cup with underprivileged children and inspire them through sports.
A large number of children and teenagers enthusiastically participated in the open-field competition, where every successful goal symbolized confidence, hope, and opportunity. The event also promoted discipline, teamwork, and positive social values through football.
Speaking as the chief guest, Director (DMA) Md. Asaduzzaman Gani said the initiative was designed to ensure that children from disadvantaged communities could also experience the joy and spirit of the FIFA World Cup.
Prizes were distributed to winners in four categories. Five participants received school bags, eight were awarded umbrellas, another eight received water bottles, and nine won pencil boxes. All other participants were given pens as consolation prizes to encourage their involvement.
The event drew enthusiastic participation from children, parents, and local residents, creating a festive football atmosphere in Kalshi Slum. The program was streamed live on the Prantik Kanthaswar Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Senior officials of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party, including Director (Media Cell Headquarters) and AGB Commandant Md. Ayub Ali, DMA Zone Commanders, police station officials, and trainers, attended the event.
