Bangladesh Ansar personnel arrested a suspected thief and recovered stolen cash during a swift operation at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) early Sunday.
The incident occurred around 5:30 am near the Operation Theatre on the hospital's second floor, where Md. Rana Hossain, 32, allegedly attempted to flee after stealing Tk 4,000 from Serena Khatun, a relative of a patient.
After the victim sought help, on-duty Ansar members Md. Sabuj Hossain and Md. Russell Hossain immediately launched an operation, detained the suspect, and recovered the stolen money.
Following verification, the recovered cash was returned to the victim, while the accused was handed over to the hospital police box for legal action.
The prompt response by Bangladesh Ansar personnel has been praised for ensuring the safety of patients and their attendants and preventing crime at government hospitals.
