The Barishal District Development Coordination Committee meeting was held on Sunday at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, with District Commissioner Md. Mamun Khondaker in the chair.
Addressing the meeting, the DC said serving the people is the primary responsibility of government employees and called for coordinated efforts to accelerate development activities in the district.
He urged officials to ensure effective implementation of government initiatives, including Farmer Cards, Fisherman Cards, and Family Cards. He also emphasized strengthening coordination among government departments for overall progress.
The DC highlighted the need to transform Barishal city into a modern and environment-friendly urban area, calling for immediate steps to keep local rivers and canals pollution-free. He also instructed government offices to maintain cleanliness and plant trees in unused spaces.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Salma Parveen, Barishal Superintendent of Police A.Z.M. Mostafizur Rahman, Civil Surgeon Dr. S.M. Manzur-E-Elahi, district officials, Upazila Nirbahi Officers, government representatives, and media personnel.
