A special operation has been conducted by the joint initiative of Titas Gas's Gazipur and Sreepur regional offices and the district administration to remove illegal gas connections and prevent gas wastage. In this day-long operation, approximately 200 illegal two-way gas connections were disconnected in the Salna Mantri Bari area of Gazipur metropolis and the Bhavanipur area of Sreepur upazila.
At the same time, a total of Tk 280,000 was fined to 5 people through a mobile court for using illegal gas in the Salna Mantri Bari area. The mobile court was conducted by the Executive Magistrate of the district administration, Jasmine Akhter.Deputy Manager of Titas Gas Sreepur office, Engineer Sheikh Jaber Noorani, said that based on secret information, an operation was conducted against illegal gas connections in the Bhavanipur area of Sreepur upazila and the Salna area of Gazipur metropolis. During this time, illegal connections were found in several houses. Five people were fined by conducting a mobile court with the cooperation of the district administration. Titas Gas Managing Engineer Md. Jewel Rana, Deputy Managing Engineer Sheikh Jaber Noorani, Assistant Engineer Hasan Al Faisal, Md. Rakib Hasan, Shakil Ahmed, Shoaib Nazm and Sohel Mia, Assistant Manager Md. Muaz Hossain and Assistant Officer Md. Aminul Islam were present in the operation. The concerned officials said that such operations against illegal gas connections will continue in the future.
Regular operations are being conducted to protect national resources, ensure proper use of gas and take strict action against law violators.
