An expatriate passenger was reunited with his lost bag at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force demonstrated prompt and responsible action on Tuesday.
The valuable bag was found abandoned on a luggage trolley in the Canopy-02 area during the early hours of the morning. Ansar member APC Md. Jaglul Pasha, who was on duty, spotted the unattended bag and immediately informed Canopy In-Charge PC Md. Altaf Hossain and Shift In-Charge PC Md. Mozammel Hossain.
The Ansar personnel then launched efforts to locate the owner, making repeated public announcements in the Canopy-02 area and surrounding sections of the airport.
Later, the owner, Md. Masuduzzaman Talukdar, returned to the airport from his home in Narayanganj after realizing the bag was missing. Officials verified his identity by matching the contents of the bag, including a wallet, National ID card, bank cards, and electronic devices, before handing it over to him.
Expressing his gratitude, Talukdar thanked the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force for their professionalism and honesty.
Alongside maintaining law and order and ensuring security at the country's key installations, the force's responsible and humanitarian response in recovering and returning the lost property has been widely praised.
