Bangladesh Commerce Bank PLC has launched the Bangla QR payment service to promote digital and cashless transactions across the country.
The service was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by Chairman Md. Ataur Rahman as the chief guest, while Executive Committee Chairman Md. Mohsin Mia attended as special guest. Managing Director Md. Obaidul Haque presided over the event. Deputy Managing Directors, divisional heads, branch managers and sub-branch in-charges also participated, with many joining virtually.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Md. Ataur Rahman emphasized the importance of QR-based payments and urged wider adoption of the service to bring more people, particularly those at the grassroots level, into the formal banking system.
Executive Committee Chairman Md. Mohsin Mia said the Bangla QR platform would enable customers to make faster, safer and cashless transactions with improved payment verification.
Managing Director Md. Obaidul Haque highlighted the service's role in expanding digital banking, saying Bangla QR can be used by businesses of all sizes and will help extend banking services to underserved communities.
