An Ansar member donated blood to a critically ill woman suffering from excessive bleeding following a miscarriage at Jashore 250-bed General Hospital on Friday.
The patient, Mst. Khadija Khatun, was admitted to the hospital around 10am on August 28 in critical condition after losing her four-month-old pregnancy and experiencing severe bleeding. Doctors advised an emergency blood transfusion to save her life.
As her family struggled to arrange blood, Ansar member Md Ariful Islam, who was deployed at the Jashore Sadar UNO Guard, learned about the situation and voluntarily donated blood.
Khadija’s husband, Md Sultan Hossain, expressed gratitude to Ariful, saying the Ansar member stepped forward without any prior acquaintance or personal interest when the family was struggling to arrange blood.
Ariful’s initiative has been praised as an example of humanity and duty, highlighting the role of Ansar members in supporting people during emergencies and critical situations.
