Members of Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) cleared overgrown weeds and vegetation and repaired damaged and pothole-ridden sections of a narrow road in Kayetpara Union of Rupganj, Narayanganj, easing traffic movement and public suffering.
The road had become narrower due to excessive vegetation along both sides, making it difficult for two vehicles to pass simultaneously. Large potholes and damaged sections also frequently caused traffic congestion, particularly when trucks and buses used the road.
To ease the situation, Kayetpara Union VDP Team Leader Md. Rakib, along with several VDP members, voluntarily cleared the roadside vegetation. They also collected brick chips and construction debris from other locations to repair the damaged sections and fill the potholes.
The initiative widened parts of the road and made it more suitable for vehicular movement, significantly reducing traffic obstacles and congestion.
Local residents praised the Ansar-VDP members for their humanitarian and community-oriented initiative. Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force continue to support communities through various public welfare activities alongside their responsibilities for public safety and maintaining social order.
