A three-month dengue prevention and cleanliness campaign has begun in Gopalganj as part of the nationwide initiative launched across Bangladesh.
The special programme has been taken up by the Gopalganj district administration and will be implemented by the Gopalganj Municipality with support from the Gopalganj Sadar Upazila administration.
Prime Minister Tarek Rahman virtually inaugurated the nationwide campaign. Officials from the district and upazila administrations, along with local political leaders and the Gopalganj-2 lawmaker, joined the inauguration from the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Gopalganj-2 MP Dr KM Babar, Deputy Commissioner Md Arif-Uz-Zaman, Police Superintendent Md Habibullah, District BNP Convener and District Council Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Sharif Rafiquzzaman, Civil Surgeon Dr Abu Said Md Faruk, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kaushik Ahmed and other government and political representatives attended the programme.
