A widow in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat has alleged that local individuals have threatened to demolish her home and forcibly occupy the land where she has been living with her two children.
Seeking protection and legal action, Mallika Bewa submitted a written complaint to the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Lalmonirhat.
According to the complaint, Mallika has been living in a house built on land inherited from her late husband, Kuddus Hossain, in the Kazirhat Baninagar area of Kaliganj.
She alleged that a group of local people, including Moktar Ali, have recently been attempting to take control of the property. She further claimed that they have repeatedly intimidated and threatened her with demolishing her only home.
Mallika said the alleged perpetrators have already put up a tin fence after failing to demolish the house.
“I am living here helplessly with my two children. If my house is demolished, I will have no option but to take my children to the streets,” she said.
She has urged the police authorities to take necessary legal measures to protect her property and ensure the safety of her family.
