Barisal Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Delwar Hossain has been accused of deliberately delaying the approval of the ad-hoc committee of MadhabpashaChandradwip High School and College for over five months. Allegedly, the delay occurred because of the school authorities did not donate Tk 5 lakh to the Deputy Commissioner’s development fund. A written complaint regarding the matter is currently under investigation at the office of the Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid.

Following a report published in the Daily Industry, the Deputy Commissioner tactfully diverted the issue with the connivence of some local miscreants. According to the report, on Monday night, June 2, around 9 PM, the acting head teacher of the institution, Jibon Krishna Bepari, was summoned to the Deputy Commissioner’s office via the Babuganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO). Allegations suggest that 25–30 individuals from various professional backgrounds had already been accumulated at the office. The head teacher was allegedly intimidated and even threatened with the suspension of his salary of the teachers and staff.

An audio recording of the incident has been preserved by Daily Industry. In the recording, the head teacher claims that the Babuganj UNO forcibly brought him from his home in Uzirpur upazila directly to the DC office. There, he was pressured to sign a recommendation in favor of three preselected candidates—Pradip Kumar Sarkar (Upazila Livestock Officer), Abdur Rauf (Upazila Agriculture Officer), and Dr. Md. Mahfuz Alam (Veterinary Surgeon). Despite initially refusing to sign due to local opposition, he was ultimately coerced into doing so under pressure.

On Tuesday, June 3, at 1:15 PM, attempts were made to contact Deputy Commissioner Md. Delwar Hossain for comment, but he disconnected the call without giving any statement.
Local guardians and civil society members have said that the prolonged absence of a legitimate committee has severely hampered the institution's academic operations. They fear that protests, rallies, or road blockades could erupt at any moment in response to the Deputy Commissioner’s unethical interference.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage among educators and the local community. Many view it as a clear example of administrative arbitrariness and corruption.
A source of Barishal Education Board said Daily Industry that the headmaster with the help of DC is trying to appoint a Hindu president of the governing body. He earlier with the help of DC has appointed some hindu teachers in the institution gaining huge cash, the source pointed out.
