A coordinated anti-drug task force operation was conducted in Mandra Mouza of Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj district at the initiative of the District Administration, Munshiganj, based on secret information.
A team of about 80 members comprising the Upazila Administration, Police, Army, RAB, and the Narcotics Control Department participated in this operation led by Additional District Magistrate Md. Rezaul Karim under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner.
The operation was attended by Deputy Director of the Narcotics Control Department, District Office, Munshiganj Md. Lutfar Rahman, Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate of Louhajang Upazila Farzana Bobby Mitu, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Erfanur Rahman, Major Yasir Tajbi Pant of RAB-10 CPC-2, Srinagar Camp, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Anisur Rahman and Major Charles of Bangladesh Army.
During this time, 06 (six) drug dealers were arrested and 01 (one) person was identified as a fugitive. 210 pieces of Yaba, 08 kg of marijuana, 05 grams of heroin and 26,000/- (twenty-six thousand) Taka in cash for drug sales were recovered from the arrested.
In the operation, 04 (four) mobile courts were operated as per the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. In addition, 02 (two) regular cases are under process for filing related crimes.
Such campaigns by the District Administration, Munshiganj to create a drug-free society will continue in the future.
