The district administration has stood by the families affected by the recent flash floods in the haor region of Habiganj and has no means of support. In continuation of this, one-time financial assistance has been provided to Mr. Gazi Mia, a day laborer, resident of Dattapara village of Sujatpur union of Baniachang upazila. Gazi Mia's homestead was completely submerged in water in the recent severe flood and became uninhabitable.
Considering this matter from a humanitarian point of view, Habiganj Deputy Commissioner Dr. G. M. Sarfaraz handed over a one-time financial assistance check of Tk 1,00,000 (one lakh) in cash to Mr. Gazi Mia at his office.
While handing over the check, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is committed to the rehabilitation of those affected by the flash floods in the haor region. This humanitarian assistance will continue to help the truly affected and distressed families like Gazi Mia regain their self-reliance and rehabilitate them. Other senior officials of the district administration were present at the time.
