A free Chinese language course program has been launched in Nagarkanda, Faridpur district under the guidance of State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obayed Islam and the initiative of Nagarkanda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Saiful Islam.
This program is providing online Chinese language training to 175 students among them 150 from Nagarkanda and 25 from Saltha Upazila.
Participants are selected meritorious students from Classes VIII to XII of various educational institutions of the mentioned upazillas.
The initiative was inspired by Shama Obayed Islam, the State Minister’s visit to Nagarkanda Technical Training Centre (TTC) on April 4, where she emphasized the importance of foreign language skills for students seeking higher education and employment opportunities abroad.
Classes are being conducted online by Bangladeshi students studying in China and professional trainers from Dhaka-based Lead Academy. Many instructors are graduates in Chinese Language from the University of Dhaka and are currently obtaining higher studies residing in China.
In Nagarkanda, students from Laskardia Atiqur Rahman High School, Talma Nazimuddin High School, M.N. Academy, Shahid Muktijoddha Akramunnesa Girls' High School, and Krishnardangi High School; are participating in the program.
The project is being financed by industrialist Hanif Mandal for Nagarkanda students; on the other hand Edris Ali Mollah is sponsoring the Saltha batch. The course is mentored by Chinese language expert Nazmun Nahar Polly.
UNO Saiful Islam said that growing global demand for Chinese language skills is creating new opportunities in education, trade, technology, and international employment. He expressed hope that the initiative would help local students build stronger prospects for their future.
