Channel S staff reporter Tariqul Islam (Tarik Shibli), 40, died on Tuesday (September 9) while covering the DUCSU elections in front of Dhaka University’s Curzon Hall.
Colleagues said Tarik Shibli had been reporting since morning. During a live broadcast, he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed. He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 1:30 pm, where doctors declared him dead.
Shafique Ahmed, a fellow journalist at the hospital, confirmed the incident. Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp in-charge Inspector Md. Faruk also confirmed the death.
Shibli lived on Turag Diabari 12 Road.
