The inauguration of the district-level inter-college football tournament was held on the occasion of Youth Festival-2025 in Barisal. With the slogan 'Come change the country, change the world', the inaugural ceremony of the district-level inter-college football tournament was held on Monday, December 1 at 10 am at the Kabi Jibanananda Das Outer Stadium on the occasion of Youth Festival, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and implemented by the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Khairul Alam Sumon was the chief guest at the event. New District Superintendent of Police Farzana Islam, Regional Deputy Director of Secondary and Higher Education Barisal Division Mohammad Jahangir Hossain were the special guests at the event.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Lusikant Hajong presided over the event. Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Alaul Hasan, District Sports Officer Md. Saidul Islam and other players were also present. In the beginning, the national anthem was played and the national flag was hoisted by the chief guest and other guests.
Later, after a brief discussion, the district-level Inter-College Football Tournament 2025 was inaugurated by releasing a balloon festoon. Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Degree College vs Hijla Government Degree College took the field in the opening match. A total of 16 teams will compete in this tournament.
