In view of the change in the political pot, the law and order situation in the whole country has deteriorated greatly. Most of the anger is against the police because of their involvement in the killings. After August 5, 515 policemen-officials took shelter in the cantonment for the sake of security. After this, order has not yet returned to the police. Many have fled the country, many are in hiding.

After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 187 members of the police at various levels have not yet joined the workplace, the police headquarters said. But beyond this, many policemen are still absent at work due to various tactics or reasons.

According to the government's decision, investigation and prosecution of criminal cases already filed, including taking departmental action against those who cannot return to work, will continue as per the law.

Related sources told Daily Industry that most of the influential police officers who have been sent on compulsory retirement are absconding. Influential police officials identified as friends of the previous government are still at large. There is anger in the public mind that the police officers who ordered fire on the angry students and killed them were not arrested.
