National Bank PLC organized a day-long workshop titled “Compliance Culture in Bank” aimed at strengthening compliance practices and promoting a culture of accountability across the organization.
On April 18, 2026 the workshop was jointly arranged by the National Bank Training Institute and the Internal Control and Compliance Division (ICCD). A total of 62 officials from the Head Office ICCD, Dhaka North Region, and various branches participated in the program.
Md. Syadur Rahman, FCMA, Senior Executive Vice President & Head of ICCD, attended the workshop as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker. In his address, he highlighted the critical importance of fostering a strong compliance culture in the banking sector. He emphasized that good governance, transparency, and strict adherence to regulatory guidelines are essential to ensuring institutional stability and sustainable growth.
The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including the strategic role of the Internal Control and Compliance Division, regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations, due diligence processes, and key aspects of risk management.
Participants were also briefed on policies and practical approaches related to loan rescheduling, interest waiver, restructuring, and the management and recovery of non-performing loans.
A dedicated session conducted by ICCD team members focused on the roles and responsibilities of branch and regional managers, along with best practices in loan processing and recovery operations.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Shah Syed Rafiul Bari, Principal of the National Bank Training Institute. He underscored the importance of embedding compliance culture at all levels of the organization and thanked the participants for their active engagement.
The workshop featured interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities, contributing to enhanced professional skills and awareness among the participants.
