A measles-rubella vaccination campaign has been launched across Kurigram district under the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), covering a total of 1,815 centers.
The campaign was officially inaugurated on Monday morning by Deputy Commissioner Annapurna Debnath. Among those present at the inauguration were Superintendent of Police Khandaker Fazle Rabbi, District Council Administrator Sohel Hosnain Kaikobad, Civil Surgeon Dr. Swapan Kumar Biswas, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Nizam Uddin, NCP leaders Mukul Mia and Masum Mia, DAB Convener Dr. Mahfuzar Rahman Maruf, Kurigram General Hospital Superintendent Nur Newaz Ahmed, District Primary Education Officer Swapan Kumar, along with other distinguished individuals. The program was conducted by Dr. Rafi Abir. Under this campaign, a total of 271,699 children aged between 6 months and under 5 years will be vaccinated across 9 sub-districts and 3 municipal areas of the district. To ensure the success of the campaign, 3,620 health workers and volunteers have been deployed. The vaccination drive will continue until May 10.
