Shimanto Bank PLC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) at BIDA's head office.
Under the agreement, investors will be able to access essential banking services through Shimanto Bank via BIDA's online One-Stop Service (OSS) portal. These services will include the online opening of temporary bank accounts for foreign investors.
The MoU was signed by Head of Business of Shimanto Bank PLC Md Sahidul Islam and Director General of BIDA Jibon Krishna Saha Roy on behalf of their respective organisations. The signing ceremony was presided over by Executive Member of BIDA Air Commodore Md Shaharul Huda and attended by Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank Md Shahinuzzaman, Head of IT of Shimanto Bank PLC Manzur Maswood, and other senior executives from BIDA and the bank.
The collaboration reflects Shimanto Bank's commitment to supporting foreign investment and simplifying banking services for investors through digital platforms.
