The campus of Eastern University came alive with colour and festivity as the university celebrated Bangla New Year 1433 through a day-long programme organised by the Eastern University Cultural Club. Teachers, students, officers, staff members and alumni gathered on campus to take part in the celebration. Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University Professor Dr Farid A Sobhani attended the event as chief guest. In his address, he said, "Pohela Boishakh is not merely a date; it is a day to reconnect with our roots. A university is not only a centre for the dissemination of knowledge, but also a place that nurtures culture and human values." He extended New Year greetings and wished everyone happiness, prosperity and success. Treasurer of the university Professor Md Shamsul Huda said, "The New Year reminds us of how rich and diverse Bengali culture truly is. The cultural awareness our students are demonstrating through this celebration is truly inspiring." Registrar of the university Dr Abul Bashar Khan also extended New Year greetings and told students, "May those of you who will build the Bangladesh of tomorrow always carry your heritage with you as you move forward."
