Bangladesh has recorded seven more deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms in the in 24 hours till 8am Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 439 since March 15, according to the latest bulletin from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the deaths, one child was confirmed to have measles, while six others were classified as suspected cases.
During the same period, 1,363 more children across the country developed measles-like symptoms.
According to official data, a total of 369 people have died from measles-like symptoms since March 15, while 70 deaths were confirmed as measles infections.
Since March 15, 54,419 children have shown measles-like symptoms nationwide. Of them, 39,160 were admitted to hospitals, while 34,968 have since recovered and returned home.
The DGHS further reported that 7,305 children have been confirmed with measles during the same period.
