The Dubai Taxi Company has announced plans to recruit 6,000 Bangladeshi drivers this year, with the initial selection process set to begin tomorrow at the Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Center.

The announcement was made during a courtesy meeting between a Dubai Taxi Company delegation and Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury. Officials said around 1,500 drivers will be recruited in the current phase.

State Minister Nurul Haque Nur also urged that migration costs for drivers be reduced to Tk1 lakh.

The Dubai Taxi Company noted that Bangladeshi workers are in high demand due to their skills and discipline, with around 8,000 Bangladeshis already working among 15,000 drivers from 27 countries.

The company also highlighted that Bangladeshi women are successfully working as drivers at Dubai Airport. Officials expressed hope that recruitment from Bangladesh will continue in the future, while the ministry assured full support for the process.
