Organized by the Barishal Judicial Magistracy, the symposium took place on Tuesday afternoon (May 19) at the conference hall of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court building. Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Jahidul Azad presided over the session.
The conference focused heavily on inter-departmental cooperation to expedite pending cases. Magistrate Azad and senior officials issued crucial directives on several operational matters:
Trial Acceleration: Identifying and resolving delays in executing pending processes, ensuring timely submission of medical certificates, and guaranteeing the punctual production of under-trial prisoners from jail.
Witness Protection & Attendance: Formulating strategies to ensure the safe transit of witnesses to and from court and guaranteeing their appearance during trials.
Evidence Management: Ensuring the timely presentation of seized evidence (Alamat) from the court treasury (Malkhana).
Security Measures: Enhancing the security protocols for the court premises, judges, and judicial staff.
Infrastructure Support: Addressing the necessity of an uninterrupted power supply during court hours and streamlining official correspondence.
The conference served as a major coordination hub, bringing together key figures from the judiciary, law enforcement, and civil administration.
