Social Security Service Festival was organized in Bandarban with the theme “Protection for All, Prosperity for All”. It is organized to increase public awareness about social security programs and direct interaction with beneficiaries.
On Wednesday (June 24) morning, a discussion meeting was held at Bandarban Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium on the initiative of Chittagong Divisional Social Service Office.
Bandarban Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Saniul Ferdous was present as the chief guest in the event. Shahidul Islam, Divisional Director of Chittagong Division of Social Services Directorate was present as a special guest.
Besides, Bandarban Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Marufa Sultana Khan Hira Moni, Deputy Director of District Social Service Office Milton Muhuri, Bandarban Press Club President Aminul Islam Bachchu, officials of various public and private institutions, employees of social service department and beneficiaries of social security programs were also present in the event.
Speakers in the discussion meeting said that the government has been implementing various social security programs to improve the quality of life of the disadvantaged, helpless, poor and backward people of the society.
Through these programs, people of various classes and professions including elderly, widows, disabled people are coming under financial assistance and social protection.
Speakers also said that social security programs are not limited to providing financial assistance; It is an important means of ensuring inclusive development in society.
These initiatives of the government are playing an important role in improving the quality of life of marginalized people.At the end of the program, an exchange of views was held with the beneficiaries of various allowances and services. Besides, the participants were also informed about the various service activities of the Department of Social Services.
